Introduction
Explorer is an early model 1988 Nordic Tug 32 — hull number 12. This boat was purchased new by the sellers 31 years ago. For ten of those years, Explorer was used as a Search and Rescue Boat in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary on San Francisco Bay! The sellers cruised Explorer from San Francisco to the Seattle area where they've made their home for many years. The Nordic Tug 32 model is an American classic — designed, built and equipped with primarily US made ingenuity and materials. Nordic Tugs are built in Burlington, WA and they have a distinctive “tug” style, accentuated by the faux stack, that exudes character.
Description
Explorer is a single cabin, single engine, raised pilothouse model that will enable you to cruise in comfort and style. Explorer is powered by a Cummins 210 HP diesel engine.
Cockpit
Explorer has the traditional Nordic Tug swim step that leads into the aft deck/cockpit. The cockpit hatch provides access to the lazarette where you can service the steering system.
Saloon
Walking into the salon it is refreshingly open with the saloon aft and galley forward. The saloon is a great place to relax. The settee makes out into a double bed for guests and the galley is very efficient with a lot of storage for cooking essentials. In the saloon, you'll also find hatches in the floor that lead to storage space along with fuel tank, aft bilge and shaft alley access.
Pilothouse and Staterooms
From the salon, you can go up a couple steps to the pilothouse and continue down a couple steps to the head, shower and forward stateroom.
Explorer can be easily seen in Anacortes, WA. Please get in touch to request additional details, more photos and to schedule your appointment to step aboard. With a few minor improvements, Explorer will take you to distant shores safely and in comfort.
