Excalibur is configured with the popular three stateroom and two head layout. Her interior features custom design and soft goods by yacht specialist, Sylvia Bolton. Outside she has double walking side decks and her flybridge has the desirable fiberglass hard top. Underway, her reliable Cummins main engine pushes her through the water while sipping diesel. For comfort she has Wesmar active fin stabilization and for redundancy, she has a Wesmar get home drive powered from the Northern Lights generator PTO. Docking is simplified with Sidepower bow and stern thrusters connected to the wireless Yacht Controller remote that also shifts the main engine in and out of gear.

MAIN SALOON:

It is easy to understand why the Selene 57’s double walk around side decks design is one of the most popular layouts among owner operators. From the cockpit you enter the main saloon through the Dutch door (with teak veneer on inside panels). Large windows outboard and beautiful wood craftsmanship create a welcoming first impression. A built-in entertainment center houses a Sony 32” flat screen TV. Seating accommodations come from an L- shaped settee to port, and (2) Ekornes reclining leather chairs to starboard. Most locker doors throughout are louvered. The galley is forward to port, you can go up some steps to the pilothouse AND, Excalibur has the desirable forward starboard saloon stairway to the owner stateroom below.

GALLEY:

Excalibur’s large galley has counter-top laid with granite counter tops, drawers and lockers along premium appliances all make for a very comfortable meal prep area. Appliances include a Miele dishwasher, Franke stainless steel sink basin with InSinkErator disposal, Broan trash compactor, Force 10 three burner LPG gas stove, Vitrofrigo refrigerator/freezer and GE oven/microwave. The sink is situated below a window facing out the port side of the vessel, giving great views of the surrounding areas outside. A hatch in the galley sole provides access to the machinery spaces below (original ladder removed)..

PILOTHOUSE:

Excalibur’s pilothouse was built for long-distance travel in comfort and style.This layout without a watch berth allows for a much larger space. She has cruised extensively and offers a great underway command station for running long distances in comfort. Excellent visibility when perched in either of her two Stidd helm chairs. Carpeted sole. She is helmed via a classic teak wood steering wheel.

Forward stairway to living quarters:

From the pilothouse, to starboard, a gently curving staircase leads down to the ships living quarters. At the landing you have access to the Asko W6461 clothes washer and separate Asko T731 clothing dryer appliances.

GUEST STATEROOM – Port:

The “third stateroom” is located to port and just forward of the pilothouse stairs landing. There are two bunk beds and an office desk with chair. The upper bunk runs along the hull sides and can serve as large storage shelf when not used for sleeping arrangements.The lower berth is positioned athwartships. The desk is faced forward and has additional counter surface outboard (an ideal printer location) There are two opening portlights outboard.Several louvered lockers, multiple drawers and a hanging locker are available for storage.

VIP GUEST STATEROOM – Forward:

The VIP stateroom is forward with a centerline island berth fore/aft. The berth is surrounded with bed stand counters on both sides as well louvered lockers outboard and above the headboard. The VIP stateroom, like the rest of the living spaces, is comfortably air-conditioned. There are opening port lights outboard to port and starboard. The overhead hatch has a sliding shade/screen

ENGINE ROOM:

The engine room has easy access through the aft door in the owners stateroom. Forward to port is a ladder that provides secondary access/exit to the galley above. Excalibur is propelled by a Cummins QSM11 and has a redundant propulsion system, a Wesmar APU (Auxiliary propulsion unit), that is driven from a hydraulic take-off connected to her Northern Lights 20kW generator. (2) fiberglass fuel tanks with sight glasses and an ESI diesel fuel management system. The forward outboard alcoves house the Wesmar active fin stabilizers.

LAZARETTE:

Excalibur’s lazarette is entered into from the cockpit hatch down a short stainless ladder with teak steps or from the aft engine room door. This is a well-organized machinery space that houses the Grunert freezer, Kabola diesel furnace, Sea Recovery Watermaker, Side Power stern thruster, Glendinning shore power cable retriever and bin and other serviceable gear. There are built in lockers with shelves for storing spare parts (which are plentiful). The area is finished with varnished teak trim and varnish teak grates.

Excalibur’s swim platform makes for a convenient and secure location to board via dinghy, or for snorkeling, diving and swimming activities. Stainless steel staples add to the swim platform security. A folding ladder is mounted underneath the swim platform. Teak decking covers the swim platform, cockpit and side decks.

FOREDECK:

The Portuguese bridge wraps around the pilot house and provides those aboard a safer way to traverse the external spaces of the yacht. At the forward face of the Portuguese bridge is a built-in cushioned seating area. There is a solid grip stainless railing on the top surface of the Portuguese bridge. The Foredeck is entered through a hinged door from the Portuguese bridge. There are forward shore power connections (in addition to aft in the cockpit). Storage lockers in the Portuguese bridge.

Stainless steel railing secures the boat deck.

FLYBRIDGE:

The flybridge is a wonderful place to operate the yacht – under the shaded protection of her factory installed fiberglass hard top. Navigation and operations controls positioned for easy vessel command.
